Chapter 20—Your Father’s pleasure

Divine Love’s pleasure is to give us “the kingdom,” to grant us dominion over our life and access to its fullness and goodness. Love wants to do this. We have been trained by our limited eyes and ears, doubts and fears, to believe that God could not possibly be that loving, that ready, that limitless, that doting. We limit Him. And so we also limit ourselves. We somehow believe that our success, our joy, our peace are earned by time or toil, rather than inherently by the fact that “the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)
